MANADO, JP- Wakil Menteri Perdagangan (Wamendag) RI Jerry Sambuaga menilai produk usaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM) asal Sulut tidak kalah bersaing dengan daerah lain bahkan bisa bersaing di pasar Global. Untuk itu semua elemen harus mendorong agar pelaku UMKM harus terus tingkatkan kualitas dan menguasai digital.
“Saya merasa optimis ekonomi Sulut akan maju pesat kalau UMKM dan sektor pariwisata kita kembangkan, karema potensi Sulut besar,” ungkap Wamendag Jerry Sambuaga usai peluncuran Gerakan Nasional Bangga Wisata Indonesia (Gernas BBI dan BWI) Pelangi Sulawesi dengan tema “Dari Sulawesi Menuju Mancanegara” secara virtual, di Manado, Kamis (26/08/2021).
Kegiatan ini berlangsung secara virtual dari Jakarta yang dibuka Menko Maritim dan Investasi Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Mendag Muhammad Lutfi, Gubernur Sulut Olly Dondokambey serta di Manado hadir langsung Wamendag RI Jerry Sambuaga.
Kementerian Perdagangan (Kemendag) berharap pencanangan Gerakan Nasional (Gernas) Bangga Buatan Indonesia (BBI) dan Bangga Wisata Indonesia (BWI) di Provinsi Sulawesi Utara (Sulut) akan menciptakan onboarding bagi Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM). Tercipta pula semangat baru bagi mereka agar mampu bertahan di era pandemi.
Jerry mengatakan UMKM ditantang untuk memanfaatkan teknologi guna memasarkan hasil produksi mereka, karena itu kegiatan BBI diharapkan terjadi onboarding UMKM.
“Ini pasti akan berdampak positif bagi ekonomi Sulut. UMKM di Sulut terus didorong karena UMKM sangat menunjang ekonomi daerah,” tandasnya. (*/JPc)
